The Claus Roxin Academic Research Centre for Liberalism and the Rule of Law mourns the passing of an eminent jurist and esteemed colleague, Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Claus Roxin, who left us on 18 February 2025.

Professor Claus Roxin profoundly shaped the discipline of legal scholarship through his unparalleled expertise and unwavering dedication to academic inquiry. His groundbreaking contributions to criminal law, as well as his enduring commitment to human dignity, liberalism, and the rule of law, will remain an enduring legacy for generations to come.

He was not only an outstanding scholar, teacher, and mentor to countless academics and students, but also a deeply respected friend and source of inspiration, whose wisdom, humanity, and intellectual integrity will continue to guide and inspire us.
